All music and classroom teachers

It’s JazzFest season again, (our 21st  anniversary!) and for the eleventh year, the Medicine Hat JazzFest is pleased to offer an opportunity for your students to hear one of the headliners at this year’s JazzFest in a special day time concert, organized specifically for schools.

This year we are thrilled to have back at JazzFest Gypsophilia from Halifax Nova Scotia.

This high-energy group brings a new style to the JazzFest school show audience; Gypsy Jazz. This is a rhythmic, fun, easy to listen to style of music that combines serious musicianship with humor and fun and the result makes it hard for the audience to sit still. We think the kids will really love this band!

The concert will take place on Wednesday, June 21, with two choices of times for you to select: 10:00AM – 11:00AM or 11:30AM – 12:30PM. (The band has a flight to catch in Calgary later in the day, so we’ve moved the shows both to the morning to make their appearance for your students possible). The concert takes place in the Esplanade theatre. All we are asking is $3/person to help cover the hall rental costs.

We are taking reservations for numbers up to the limit of the theatre, on a first come, first serve basis. There are a total of 685 seats available/show. The shows sell out quickly, so reserve as soon as you can. Include teachers and chaperones in your head count.

To reserve seats for your students, or to receive further information, please email Jennifer Kirkpatrick at office@medicinehatjazzfest.com.  Please specify which concert time you prefer and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Our School Show Coordinator will come to your school in June to collect the money and give you a receipt. We hope that you are able to take advantage of this opportunity, and expose your students to this unique, world-class musical experience.

Sincerely;

Lyle Rebbeck
