Welcome to my Homepage!
I was born and raised in Medicine Hat. This is my eighth year teaching: two years at MHHS, and 6 years here at CHHS. I graduated with a Bachelor of Education degree in secondary education from the University of Alberta. In the past I coached badminton and basketball, while more recently I have turned to coaching cross-country running.
Travel is one of my biggest interests. I spent 7 weeks backpacking through Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji; 6 weeks volunteering teaching English in Peru & travelling to Bolivia; 7 weeks backpacking through Europe in 2015 with my best friend. I'm not sure where my next big adventure will take me - perhaps Africa or Thailand. Travelling allows me to experience culture, meet new people, be adventurous, and expand my horizons. It is such a significant character-building opportunity, and I learn so much every time I travel!
When I'm not teaching or travelling, I enjoy running, working out, camping/boating, reading, watching Tigers hockey games, and spending time with family, friends, and with Cooper, my eight-year old beagle. I have two sisters, three stepsisters, and a whole lot of nieces and nephews.
I love that my career allows me to be a positive influence on young people - I strive to make a difference in their lives!
