Final Exams Update

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As you are aware, the January diploma exams have been cancelled due to loss of instructional time resulting from labour action across the province. In response to this change, we will be adjusting the structure of our Semester 1 exam schedule for all students.

Rather than setting aside dedicated exam days, teachers will continue to focus on instruction, assessment, and meaningful learning activities throughout January. Regular classes will continue up to and including January 27, 2026. In essence, we have shifted 7 exam days into teaching days. These, in addition to the PL day in November, result in a recovery of 8 instructional days total. January 28, 2026 will be used by high schools as a turn around day between semesters; there will be no school for students in grades 10-12 at MHHS and HUB Virtual School, and students in grades 7-12 at CHHS.

This approach allows us to support student learning, ensure continuity in course content, and provide ongoing opportunities for students to demonstrate their understanding as we conclude Semester 1.

Key Dates:

  • Last day of Semester 1 classes: January 27, 2026

  • Turn Around Day: January 28, 2026

  • Semester 2 begins: January 29, 2026 (as scheduled)

We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we adapt to this unique situation. Our focus remains on maintaining high-quality learning experiences and supporting all students in their academic success.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Sincerely,

Mike Kukurudza - Principal CHHS

Nathan Gale - Principal HUB

Tara Johnson - Principal MHHS
