CST’s work directly with school based administrators, classroom teachers and educational assistants. They also may work with external service providers and Division Office personnel.
OUR ACADEMIC ADVISORS
Mrs. Jill Pancoast - Grade 7-9
Mrs. Erin Sawicki - Grade 10-12
Academic advisors aim to connect, support, and help guide our students in safe, positive and meaningful ways. Educational, and post-secondary advising are available in our welcoming Student Services in the 500 hallway. Students are able to connect with, consult with, problem solve, share feelings, worries, and questions with their Grade Level academic advisor during the school day. Academic advisors are provided to assist students in obtaining maximum benefit from a school experience and to develop their potential to the fullest. All students, parents, and teachers are invited to make use of the staff as well as materials available in Student Services.
Academic advisors are actively involved in developing and adjusting individual student schedules:
- Students are timetabled for the next school year during the spring of each year.
- Students may not be allowed to repeat a course in the same school year.
- Students attending Semester 2 only are timetabled prior to the beginning of that semester.
- Once a class has been in session for two weeks, changes are made only after the student has provided reasons acceptable to school administration and after the parent/ or guardian has agreed to the requested change.
